Parassinikkadavu Snake Park is one of the most famous tourist places in Kannur district, Kerala. This unique park is famous for the conserve the rare varieties of reptiles facing the threat of extinction. It is only snake park in Kerala and reptile preservation center in India. The park is located at a small village Parassinikkadavu that lies 16 km away from Kannur town. Muthappan temple is another attraction of the village. Travelers can cover both destinations on a single trip. You can take the enjoyment of boating there, District tourism promotion council provides the boating facilities at the near of river to the tourists. The park was established by the Visha Chikista Kendra they provide the treatment and diagnosis for snakebites. the king cobra, spectacled cobra, Russel’s viper, pythons, krait and pit viper are rare varieties of snakes you can see here. This park is home of reptiles, birds, and animals. More than 150 species of reptiles are recorded here. How to reach there

By road: Bus facilities are available from Chemperi to Kanjirakolly.

By train: Kannur is the nearest railway station.

By air: Calicut and Mangalore are the nearest airports.

Entry time

9 am to 4 pm is entry time there. The cost of the ticket there is 20 rupees for adult and 10 rupees for children. One of the best thing about the Alakapuri Waterfalls we can notice that the Forest department provides the insurance cover to visitors.
