Peralassery Sri Subramanya Temple is a famous temple of Malabar region, about 14 km from kannur district, Kerala. This temple is dedicated to Lord Subrahmanya, the son of Lord shiva. The eggs are the chief offering to devotees. It is a very famous ancient temple, Where Lord Rama and Laxmana came for the rescue of Sita. They halted when they were on the way of Lanka. The devotees called the Temple of the King Cobra, Naga temple to this temple. The massive temple pond and the annual kodiyettam festivals are the main festivals here. Here annual festival celebrates for 8 days in the month of Dec-Jan during Dhanur Masam. The temple is a brilliant architecture of ancient Kerala. Many myths are connected to this temple. Kathakali, Ottanthullal, Parayan Thullal, Seethankan Thullal, and Chakyarkoothu are the main folks here that are performed during the annual festival program. The Peralassery Subramania Temple opening time is 4:00 am and closing time is 4:00 pm. Holy Shrine can visit any season in the temple but the best time to visit this temple is December during the annual festival.
